Assistant Manager, People Development

About the role

Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi, part of the Accor network, is looking for an Assistant Manager, People Development. The role covers training, administration, counseling and quality reporting, working closely with the People & Culture team, department heads and the regional office.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and update technical training manuals and tools per field, coordinate yearly performance reviews for supervisory staff, order and distribute training certificates and compile course requirements and attendance.
• Ensure up-to-date course materials and job descriptions for in-house departmental trainers, and counsel supervisors and employees on training matters.
• Implement hotel Learning & Development standards, train in-house trainers, supervise internal technical training and set monthly training schedules.
• Oversee the property induction programme, follow up on external courses (including Accor Academy / HERO modules) and drive e-learning.
• Lead a quality assurance team, run monthly quality meetings, monitor guest feedback and staff performance, and review brand compliance assessments.
• Prepare annual individual development plans for Heads of Departments and below, gather monthly quality data and reports, and perform internal audits and inspections.
• Inform GM, HODs and supervisors about hotel events and news, and carry out special projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 2 years of experience in L&D roles within the hospitality industry.
• Proven experience managing and directing learning or organization development programmes in a multi-unit organization.
• Strong oral and written communication, coaching and team leadership skills, and multicultural awareness.

Required skills

• Designing and delivering learning programmes to multi-cultural, multi-level audiences.
• Project management and prioritizing multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with operational standards, Learning & Development audit, peer audit, brand audit, Trust You and the Learning & Development budget.
