Assistant Manager - Sales

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Sales will drive revenue growth and ensure operational excellence across our retail stores. Reporting to the Brand General Manager, the role combines sales leadership, staff development and visual merchandising to deliver a superior customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets and profitability metrics such as units per transaction, average transaction value, sales per square foot and conversion rates.
• Enforce company SOPs, policies and loss‑prevention guidelines across all stores.
• Oversee visual merchandising implementation to maintain brand standards at every location.
• Recruit, train and coach store staff on sales techniques, customer service and teamwork.
• Monitor inventory levels, manage slow‑moving stock and ensure stock security in collaboration with Brand Managers.
• Participate in new store design projects, providing guidance to architects and project teams.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, set KPIs for direct reports and develop succession plans.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead retail teams, drive sales performance and improve operational efficiency.
• Strong communication skills to deliver feedback, conduct meetings and coordinate with Area Managers, Brand Managers and buyers.
• Experience in staff development, performance appraisal and implementing training programmes.
• Capability to analyse stock data, identify slow‑moving items and work with planners to optimise inventory.
• Familiarity with visual merchandising standards and store layout planning.
