Assistant Manager – School Facilities

About the role

Join GEMS Education as an Assistant Manager – School Facilities, supporting the School Operations Manager to develop and implement effective cleaning, repair and maintenance systems. You will ensure that all school buildings, grounds and equipment are kept to high standards, providing a safe and conducive learning environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement cleaning, repair and maintenance systems in partnership with the School Operations Manager.
• Oversee day‑to‑day facilities management to ensure safe, secure and conducive learning environments.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for electrical, HVAC, plumbing and other essential systems, ensuring compliance with Ministry regulations.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, monitor performance and resolve service issues.
• Raise and track purchase requisitions and orders in line with GEMS procurement policies.
• Supervise support staff, subcontractors and on‑site accommodation to maintain welfare and compliance with HSE policies.
• Handle emergency calls, repair requests and transportation logistics for students and staff.

Required profile

• Experience in facilities, operations or school administration.
• Knowledge of UAE health, safety and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage service providers, maintenance contracts and procurement processes.
