Assistant Manager – Shimmers Restaurant

About the role

An exciting opportunity to join Shimmers Restaurant at Madinat Jumeirah as an Assistant Manager, supporting the Outlet Manager in daily operations, team leadership and driving sales performance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor workflow and service sequence during service periods, providing hands‑on support.
• Oversee cashiering functions to ensure compliance with Jumeirah procedures.
• Track customer satisfaction, handle feedback and complaints following company standards.
• Maintain a customer database to support guest recognition and personalized service.
• Recommend operational improvements and updates to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Suggest initiatives to increase market share and profitability.
• Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, training and counselling of colleagues.
• Ensure staff understand how their activities contribute to departmental objectives.
• Assess staffing levels and competence, arranging training where needed.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised diploma or degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management.
• Minimum two years experience in a Food & Beverage outlet within a five‑star hotel.
• Strong communication, administration and organisational abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; additional language such as Greek is a plus.
