Assistant Night Manager – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Assistant Night Manager supports the night‑time front‑desk operations of a luxury hotel, ensuring smooth guest check‑ins, accurate billing, and high‑quality service throughout the shift. This position works closely with security, accounting and housekeeping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Process all guest check‑ins, verify identity, assign rooms, issue keys and activate Marriott Rewards.
• Set up accurate guest accounts, ensure rates match market codes and document any exceptions.
• Secure payment prior to key issuance, handle vouchers, paid‑outs and all payment types.
• Compile and review daily reports, cashier and closing reports, and maintain contingency lists.
• Supply guests with directions, property information and respond to service requests, coordinating with other departments as needed.
• Balance and drop receipts, count and secure the cash drawer at the start and end of the shift.
• Obtain manual authorisations, follow accounting procedures and notify loss‑prevention of any theft reports.
• Assist management with training, evaluating, counseling and coaching team members.
• Maintain a professional appearance, uphold confidentiality and follow all safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related hospitality work experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a front‑desk or guest‑services setting.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS and computer reservation systems.
• Cash handling and basic accounting procedures.
