Assistant Nurse - OPD

About the role

Royal Hospital Dubai Investment Park is hiring an Assistant Nurse for its OPD (outpatient department). The post holder works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife, contributing to the planning and delivery of patient care with a patient-centred approach.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the activities of daily living for patients, such as distributing meals and helping with hygiene needs, in line with the patient care plan.
• Maintain a high standard of care following evidence-based guidelines and unit-specific competencies, and act as a patient advocate.
• Report vital signs, changes in condition and reactions to care to the supervising nurse immediately, and respond to emergencies according to policy.
• Facilitate post-discharge clinic visits and tests, including scheduling follow-ups and referrals, and help arrange patient transport.
• Provide direct patient care according to the therapeutic plan, and record detailed reports of care given in the patient's official record.
• Reinforce instructions given by physicians and nurses, and escalate uncertainties to colleagues for advice.
• Perform Basic Life Support as required by regulatory scope, and carry out other duties assigned within the scope of practice.

Required profile

• A valid license to work as an assistant nurse or assistant midwife in the relevant regulatory health authority, with the required qualifications and experience.
• Ability to manage your own professional re-licensure.
• A valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support provider card.
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary.
• Clear spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable.

• Organizational and administrative skills for using the electronic medical record platform.
