Assistant Professor – Artificial Intelligence

About the role

The Department of Information Technology at Ajman University seeks a full‑time Assistant Professor to lead teaching and research in Artificial Intelligence and its applications, starting Fall 2026. The successful candidate will join the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, collaborate with industry partners, and contribute to the university’s academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in AI, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) and related areas.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in top‑tier journals and conferences, and engage with industry partners for consultancy and applied research.
• Participate in departmental, college and university committees, support program planning, and provide academic advising to students.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Pattern Recognition, MLOps or a closely related field from a reputable university.
• Outstanding teaching record in AI‑related courses and a strong publication record in top journals or conferences.
• Experience supervising student projects, capstones or graduate theses, with a record of collaborative, interdisciplinary research.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AI tools and frameworks.
• Experience using cloud platforms for AI development.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning Operations (MLOps).
• Expertise in Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning and Pattern Recognition.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
