About the role

The Statistics and Data Science Area at MBZUAI seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor to lead research and teaching at the intersection of statistical theory and machine learning. You will join a vibrant community focused on rigorous foundations of AI and large‑scale data analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and graduate instruction in statistics, data science, and related topics.
• Mentor and supervise graduate students on research projects.
• Contribute to curriculum design and development of new courses.
• Conduct independent research and publish in top venues.
• Collaborate with faculty, industry partners, and government agencies on AI‑driven solutions.

Required profile

• PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or expected completion by Fall 2027).
• Strong record or potential for high‑impact research at the interface of statistics and machine learning.
• Ability to teach and mentor students in a multicultural environment.
