About the role

The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) invites applications for tenure‑track Assistant Professor positions in Statistics and Data Science. The role is based in Abu Dhabi and focuses on advancing the statistical and probabilistic foundations of machine learning and data science.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and graduate instruction in statistics, data science, and related topics.
• Mentor and supervise student research projects and theses.
• Contribute to curriculum design and development of new courses.
• Conduct independent research leading to publications in top venues.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, industry partners, and government agencies on AI‑driven solutions.

Required profile

• PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
• Strong record of research in areas such as statistical learning theory, high‑dimensional statistics, causal inference, or uncertainty quantification.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate complex concepts effectively.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and societal impact of AI.
