Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil Infrastructure

About the role

Parsons is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil – Infrastructure) to supervise day‑to‑day delivery of roads and multi‑utility infrastructure works in Abu Dhabi, ensuring safe, compliant and high‑quality execution. The role reports to the Resident Engineer and may act on their behalf, coordinating with design, contractor and authority teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction of roads and infrastructure works and associated items, reporting to the Resident Engineer.
• Act as Resident Engineer when required and coordinate activities with other engineers and the supervision team.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, design proposals and related correspondence; draft responses for RE review.
• Coordinate with design engineers to resolve technical issues and site queries.
• Coordinate with contractor engineers on scheduling and resource deployment; support progress measurement and reporting.
• Direct and monitor inspectors and surveyors; maintain daily diaries and ensure record completeness.
• Chair coordination meetings with service authorities, contractors and stakeholders; support issuance of site instructions.
• Support HSE implementation and ensure safety goals are achieved on site.
• Verify measured works, maintain accurate as‑built records and support utility handover and final clearances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years experience in construction supervision/delivery of infrastructure and utilities works, with prior experience as Assistant Resident Engineer – Civil.
• Strong background across utilities/infrastructure including roads, stormwater, potable water and telecommunications.
• Sound knowledge of contractual relationships, strong documentation discipline and full computer literacy for reporting and records.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.
