Assistant Resident Engineer - Wet Utilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer – Wet Utilities to join our infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supervising the construction of wet utility networks and ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor construction of potable water, irrigation, sewerage, stormwater drainage and associated networks.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs and inspection requests.
• Monitor site progress, quality, workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, authorities, stakeholders and other disciplines to resolve technical issues.
• Oversee inspection, testing and commissioning of wet utility networks and obtain required approvals.
• Identify construction risks, technical issues and delays, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain records of site activities, inspections, progress and correspondence.
• Support the Resident Engineer in day‑to‑day management and participate in site and technical meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in wet utilities and infrastructure construction, with strong stormwater works experience.
• Good knowledge of wet utility systems including stormwater, sewerage, potable water and irrigation networks.
• Experience in construction supervision, inspection, quality control and contractor coordination.
• Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
• UAE infrastructure and authority experience preferred.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem‑solving skills.
