Assistant/Associate Professor, Human-Robot Interaction & Embodied AI

About the role

The Human-Computer Interaction area of the Computing and Mathematical Sciences Division at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) is recruiting an Assistant or Associate Professor focused on human-robot interaction and embodied AI. Candidates should advance the design and evaluation of embodied AI systems that interact and collaborate effectively with people, with interdisciplinary work across AI, robotics and related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction and mentor students
• Contribute to curriculum development
• Collaborate with industry partners, government agencies and research institutions on AI-driven solutions for real-world challenges
• Work with leading AI researchers

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Information Science, Cognitive Science, Design Engineering or a related field by the time of appointment
• Strong research record in HCI, shown through publications in top-tier venues and funded research (as appropriate to career stage)
• Demonstrated potential (for Assistant level) or established excellence (for Associate) in teaching and mentoring
