Assistant/Associate/Professor – Education Leadership in Practice

About the role

We are seeking an academic to teach and supervise students on the MA Education Leadership in Practice (ELiP) programme at the University of Manchester – Dubai. The successful candidate will deliver research‑informed teaching, undertake scholarly activity of international standing, and support engagement with students and partners across the MENA region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver innovative, high‑quality teaching and project supervision on the MA ELiP programme, especially in educational leadership and management.
• Review and update course content and materials regularly in consultation with course and programme directors.
• Apply innovative teaching techniques and materials that foster interest and understanding among students.
• Ensure course design and delivery comply with University and School quality standards and regulations.
• Provide academic support and guidance to students and respond to their queries.
• Contribute to curriculum design, assessment, moderation and maintain accurate course documentation.
• Undertake scholarly activity of international standing aligned with the School’s research priorities and publish in academic or practitioner‑oriented journals.
• Integrate research into teaching and supervise postgraduate research and projects where appropriate.
• Lead and develop links with external contacts, educational bodies, employers and professional organisations to foster collaboration.
• Participate in public engagement activities relevant to the programmes delivered through the University of Manchester – Dubai.
• Support the University’s activity and engagement across the MENA region and contribute to knowledge transfer and industry engagement.
• Contribute to internal and external accreditation, compliance and quality control processes and serve on academic committees and examination boards.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship and support student success, retention and progression.

Required profile

• A final degree and a completed PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Relevant professional experience enabling credible teaching and project supervision.
• Experience teaching postgraduate students or evidence of high‑quality presentation skills in the UAE.
• Sufficient breadth and depth of knowledge in a relevant subject area to develop and deliver programmes.
• Evidence of successful scholarly activity, including publications in academic or practitioner‑oriented journals.
• Record of knowledge transfer and external engagement with educational organisations and professional bodies.
• Strong understanding of business and management education in the Middle East context.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic administrative tasks and willingness to travel internationally for programme delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Experience with international accreditation frameworks and outcome‑based education (desirable).
• Experience in transnational education (desirable).
• Experience of industry engagement or applied research (desirable).
