Associate Dean – Clinical Education

About the role

Gulf Medical University is looking for an experienced academic and clinical leader to steer the College of Medicine’s clinical education strategy. The Associate Dean – Clinical will ensure high‑quality clinical learning, develop partnerships with healthcare institutions, and align programs with university and accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of clinical education, student placements, and residency programs.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with teaching hospitals and other healthcare providers.
• Coordinate clinical rotations, training schedules, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Drive quality‑assurance initiatives, continuous improvement, and accreditation processes for residency programs.
• Support curriculum development, competency frameworks, and student assessment mechanisms.
• Oversee clinical faculty, tutors, preceptors and monitor training outcomes and site effectiveness.

Required profile

• Medically qualified professional with a doctorate or highest professional degree in the relevant clinical specialty; PhD/Master’s in Health Professions Education preferred.
• 8–10 years of relevant clinical and academic experience, including significant experience in clinical education and health professions education; prior academic leadership (e.g., Associate/Assistant Dean, Programme Director) preferred.
