Associate Director – Building Enclosures

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an Associate Director to lead its Building Enclosures (façade) discipline across the region. In this senior leadership position you will shape strategic growth, drive technical excellence, and champion innovative façade concepts from early design through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead façade design across concept, schematic, detailed design and construction stages, delivering innovative solutions that balance performance, sustainability and constructability.
• Provide expert guidance on curtain‑wall systems, unitised façades, glazing, cladding, metal structures and complex geometries, and oversee thermal, structural, fire, acoustic and energy performance analyses.
• Manage multidisciplinary coordination with architects, structural and MEP engineers, contractors and specialist consultants, ensuring seamless design‑to‑delivery execution.
• Develop commercial strategies, pricing, forecasting and fee negotiations to support regional business growth and maintain project profitability.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing façade engineering team, promoting BIM, parametric modelling and digital automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Façade Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• 15‑20 years of façade engineering experience, with significant Middle‑East project delivery, including high‑rise towers and complex geometry façades.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng, PE or equivalent) preferred.
• Proven leadership, stakeholder engagement and commercial acumen, including P&L or division‑level budget ownership.
