Associate Director – Leveraged & Sponsor Financing

About the role

The Associate Director will join the Global Corporate Finance team to originate, evaluate and execute Leveraged & Acquisition Finance transactions for the bank's corporate and investment banking clients. Working closely with coverage managers and internal partners, the role focuses on building strategic relationships and delivering financing solutions that meet the bank’s risk parameters.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, structure and execute new leveraged finance deals in partnership with coverage and credit teams.
• Proactively originate transactions, conduct financial analysis, propose debt structures and differentiate the bank from competitors.
• Lead hands‑on financial modelling, transaction documentation and coordination with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Assist in managing the existing loan portfolio, preparing MIS reports and supporting senior loan origination members.
• Negotiate terms with borrowers and lenders, ensuring documentation follows LMA standards.
• Support the Head of Leveraged & Sponsor Financing on budgeting, business planning and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain strong internal relationships with coverage, legal, credit and operations to ensure timely execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in structured corporate lending and leveraged finance transactions.
• Strong credit assessment abilities with extensive debt and cash‑flow modelling experience.
• Knowledge of corporate valuation techniques such as DCF, comparable company analysis and LBO modeling.
• Familiarity with loan documentation, LMA standards and legal concepts related to syndicated and leveraged deals.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑party financing projects and communicate complex topics to senior audiences.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly to changing priorities and maintain high attention to detail.
