Associate Director – Projects

About the role

The Associate Director – Projects will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple large‑scale projects for a fast‑growing retail group in the GCC. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure projects align with strategic objectives, stay within budget, and meet quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and documentation of job requisitions, aligning workforce plans with business goals.
• Guide project management strategies, coordinating with Section Heads and Project Leads to ensure efficient execution.
• Monitor progress of multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with growth priorities.
• Manage project budgets, track actual costs versus forecasts, and produce financial performance reports.
• Facilitate change requests, communicating impacts on schedule and budget to all stakeholders.
• Support contractor mitigation plans, procurement, acceleration programs, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with commercial functions to enhance client relationships and resolve project issues.
• Prepare user manuals, training materials, and hand‑over documentation for successful project turnover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Project Management.
• 12–15+ years of experience, including 8+ years in senior leadership or project‑lead roles managing large, multi‑disciplinary projects.
• Preferably 5+ years of experience with a developer in the retail or real‑estate sector.
• Professional Project Management (PMP) certification – preferred.
