Associate General Counsel, Disputes

About the role

We are seeking an Associate General Counsel, Disputes to lead the disputes and alternative dispute resolution function for a leading international organisation based in Abu Dhabi. The role will shape dispute strategy, oversee high‑value international arbitration and cross‑border litigation, and provide commercially focused legal advice to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight of disputes and ADR matters across the UAE and internationally.
• Advise on complex, high‑value disputes, including international arbitration and cross‑border litigation.
• Act as a trusted legal advisor to senior executives, delivering commercially oriented guidance.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of legal professionals, fostering a high‑performance culture.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in dispute resolution, gained in leading international law firms and/or in‑house legal departments.
• Significant leadership exposure with proven ability to manage large‑scale disputes and engage senior stakeholders.
• Experience in the energy, oil and gas sector or similarly complex, regulated industries is strongly preferred.
• Commercially minded, strategic, and able to operate in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment.
