Associate/Full Professor of Pediatrics

About the role

The Department of Pediatrics at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), is inviting applications for a full-time, permanent faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an expected start date of August 2027. Applications are open to outstanding academic paediatricians across subspecialties such as Paediatric Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Cardiology. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, consultant-level clinical care, research and academic leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess medical students, develop curricula and mentor students
• Supervise student research
• Provide consultant-level inpatient, outpatient and on-call clinical services at affiliated teaching hospitals, subject to credentialing and licensure
• Develop collaborative research, publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and pursue research funding
• Take part in departmental, College and University service

Required profile

• MD, MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics and relevant subspecialty training, where applicable
• Eligibility for appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank under UAEU academic criteria
• Eligibility to obtain consultant-level professional licensure in the UAE
• Demonstrated experience in undergraduate and/or postgraduate medical education
• Strong record of peer-reviewed publications and an active research profile
• Preferred: fellowship, board certification or equivalent specialist certification from North America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand or the UK; sustained record of competitive research funding; experience in curriculum design, course leadership, student assessment and quality assurance; familiarity with international medical education standards, accreditation and licensing exams such as USMLE or Canadian qualifying exams; demonstrated academic leadership and mentorship
