Associate/Full Professor of Psychology

About the role

The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is inviting applications for a faculty position in Psychology (assistant, associate or full professor). The area of specialization is open, but candidates with proven expertise in Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology or Cross-Cultural Psychology will be of particular interest. Applicants must have a strong research background and/or an established research programme with evidence of publications in Scopus-linked journals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's and doctoral degrees in Psychology from an internationally reputable university.
• Excellent publication record commensurate with career stage and ability to attract competitive funding.
• Native or near-native English fluency, as the language of instruction is English.
• Strong teaching skills, including designing and delivering high-quality courses, using evidence-based pedagogical approaches and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Research skills: an independent research programme, securing external funding, publishing in peer-reviewed outlets and supervising student research.
• Contribution to departmental and institutional leadership, committee work, curriculum development, professional and community outreach, and ethical, inclusive academic practice.

Preferred: recognized professional development in higher education teaching and learning; clinical training and practical experience with evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); licensure or license-eligibility; experience in supervision or cross-cultural practice.
