Autocad Draughtsman – Fire Fighting System

About the role

The Autocad Draughtsman will create accurate technical drawings and documentation for fire fighting and fire protection systems. The role involves producing shop, installation, coordination and as‑built drawings in line with project specifications, NFPA and BS standards, and local authority requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings for sprinklers, risers, hydrants, hose reels, deluge, foam systems, fire pumps, tanks and associated pipework.
• Develop plans, sections, elevations, isometrics, installation and builders’ work drawings and maintain as‑built records.
• Interpret engineering designs, equipment schedules and coordinated MEP drawings to produce accurate layouts showing pipe sizes, elevations, flow directions, valves, supports and sleeves.
• Coordinate fire fighting drawings with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings, identify clashes and resolve design discrepancies.
• Support site teams with updated drawings, technical clarifications and installation details, and prepare material take‑offs and quantity schedules.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical qualification in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Proven experience as an AutoCAD draughtsman producing fire fighting or fire protection drawings for commercial, residential or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with UAE/GCC project approval processes and local authority requirements is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (layers, blocks, external references, annotation, scaling and plotting).
• Knowledge of fire fighting system components and layout requirements.
• Experience with Revit MEP, Navisworks or other BIM coordination platforms.
• Ability to produce material take‑offs, pipework schedules and equipment schedules.
