Automotive Service Advisor

About the role

The Service Advisor acts as the primary liaison between customers and the service workshop, overseeing the entire customer experience from vehicle intake to final delivery. This position ensures accurate communication of technical diagnoses, cost estimates, and service timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and courteously, managing line wait times.
• Obtain and verify customer and vehicle information, documenting any pre‑existing damage.
• Communicate with customers to identify mechanical issues and advise on manufacturer‑specified maintenance.
• Prepare clear, legible repair orders with detailed instructions and cost estimates.
• Explain additional work, costs, and timeframes when needed and obtain customer approval.
• Set and confirm “time promised” expectations with customers.
• Coordinate with the Team Leader on repair schedules and progress.
• Obtain customer signatures on all paperwork and follow up on any changes.
• Deliver completed vehicles, review invoices, and answer customer questions.
• Maintain a follow‑up program for additional repair items.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years of dealership experience.
• Professional appearance and strong oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Sales experience preferred.

Required skills

• General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
