AVP, Control & Governance – Global Markets Middle Office

About the role

The role supports the GM MO Control & Governance function by executing and monitoring first‑line control activities across Global Markets Middle Office processes, ensuring control discipline, timely exception escalation and accurate evidence management. Reporting to the VP & Head of GM MO Control & Governance, the AVP works closely with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Technology teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily, periodic and event‑driven control checks across FX/MM, Rates, Derivatives, Commodities and Capital Markets processes.
• Perform trading‑permissions, booking‑template and internal trade‑booking controls, escalating breaches as required.
• Monitor off‑market trades, counter‑party exposure and risk indicators, providing inputs to dashboards and KRI reporting.
• Conduct internal and external reconciliations, track failed trades, settlement fails and aged exceptions, and coordinate root‑cause analysis.
• Oversee lifecycle‑event controls such as corporate actions and credit events, ensuring timely investigation and escalation.
• Prepare inputs for management dashboards, KPI/KRI packs and governance forums, ensuring accurate commentary and evidence.
• Support audit, RCSA and operational‑risk reviews by maintaining auditable control evidence and tracking remediation actions.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Product Control, Market Risk, Finance, Compliance, Technology and regional teams to resolve control issues and communicate findings.
