AVP & Manager – Trade Finance Operations

About the role

The AVP & Manager will supervise and authorize Trade Finance transactions, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory controls. The role also drives process efficiency, supports end‑to‑end trade products such as letters of credit, and provides shift coverage for international operations.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and supervise a team to deliver accurate, timely trade finance services while providing on‑the‑job training and feedback.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets, prepare reports, and ensure adherence to policies, systems and procedures.
• Process, verify and authorize trade finance transactions in line with the approval matrix and regulatory guidelines.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce risk and enhance operational efficiency.
• Support risk‑management activities, including BIA, RCSA testing, AML compliance and sanctions screening.

Required profile

• Graduate degree, preferably in Commerce, Banking or Finance; CDCS or equivalent certification is a plus.
• 8‑10 years of Trade Finance experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong customer‑service orientation, proactive attitude and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Trade Finance operations, including letters of credit and document checking.
• Knowledge of ICC publications, banking commission opinions and related compliance rules.
• Regulatory compliance, AML and sanctions monitoring.
• Risk management and process‑improvement methodologies.
