AWS Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud‑based data pipelines and analytics platforms on Amazon Web Services. The role is fully remote and focuses on hands‑on development, optimisation, and operational support of data processing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable batch data pipelines using AWS Glue and Spark on EMR.
• Design, implement, and manage workflow orchestration with Apache Airflow (MWAA).
• Create serverless data processing functions with AWS Lambda.
• Work with Amazon Redshift for data warehousing and analytics.
• Implement data storage and retrieval solutions using Amazon DynamoDB.
• Utilise AWS DataZone for data discovery, governance, and access control.
• Monitor pipeline health and system performance via Amazon CloudWatch.
• Troubleshoot data processing failures and optimise performance and cost.
• Collaborate with analytics, reporting, and business teams to deliver data solutions.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services listed above.
• Proficient in SQL and Python for data manipulation and scripting.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data warehousing principles.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
