Bakery Commis I – Hotel Pastry Production

About the role

Join the hospitality team at DoubleTree by Hilton Sharjah Waterfront Hotel & Residences as a Commis I in the Bakery Section. You will be responsible for daily pastry production, ensuring each product reflects the warmth and quality of our brand while creating memorable experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day pastry operations, from preparation to presentation, maintaining high quality and efficiency.
• Produce breads, rolls, breakfast pastries, cakes, cookies and desserts according to standard recipes for restaurants and banquets.
• Develop and implement new pastry recipes and seasonal menus to enhance the dining experience.
• Decorate pastries and cakes with creativity and precision, upholding presentation standards.
• Manage inventory, ensuring adequate supply, proper storage, and FIFO rotation of ingredients.
• Supervise and coach bakery team members, fostering a positive work environment.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, sanitation and HACCP regulations.
• Assist the Bakery Chef with mise en place, buffet, banquet and other culinary requirements.

Required profile

• Passion for delivering exceptional hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership and a sense of urgency as defined by Hilton core values.
• Culinary or bakery qualification from a recognized institution (advantageous).
• Previous experience in a hotel, bakery or professional kitchen preferred.
• Basic knowledge of bakery production, food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and varied shifts.
