Banquet Service Expert

About the role

W Hotels is hiring a full-time, non-management Event Service Expert for banquets at its Yas Island property in Abu Dhabi. The role covers setting up food and beverage stations, serving guests and keeping the service area clean and organised.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare coffee breaks, carts and stations with food and beverages as stated in the Banquet Event Order.
• Set up tables, action stations, buffets, service carts, dessert and cordial carts.
• Communicate meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests to the kitchen.
• Clear courses and make sure tables are properly crumbed.
• Replenish buffet items and keep tableware presentable.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organisation of the assigned station and service areas.
• Bus tables by removing and separating tableware, plateware, glassware and flatware.
• Follow company and safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank them sincerely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience; no supervisory experience needed.
• Able to stand, sit or walk for long periods and to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds unaided.
• Ability to read small print and follow quality standards.
