Barista

About the role

Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Dubai is seeking a passionate and service‑oriented Barista to join its Food & Beverage team. The role involves preparing high‑quality coffee and non‑alcoholic beverages while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, specialty beverages and other drinks according to Hyatt standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization and hygiene of the coffee station, equipment and work areas, adhering to food safety and HACCP requirements.
• Operate, maintain and calibrate coffee machines, reporting any issues promptly.
• Process guest orders and payments accurately using the Micros POS system.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock control, rotation and monthly inventory checks.
• Promote daily specials, seasonal offerings and upsell to enhance guest experience and support revenue objectives.
• Collaborate with Kitchen, Housekeeping and other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Barista in a café, restaurant, hotel or similar hospitality environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and strong attention to detail.
• Good command of spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of coffee preparation methods, espresso extraction, milk frothing and specialty beverages.
• Proficiency with Micros POS system for order and payment processing.
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices and HACCP standards.
