Bartender - Luxury Hotel

About the role

A luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi is looking for a full-time Bartender to provide prompt and courteous food and beverage service to its guests. The role covers serving, clearing, cash handling and supporting the restaurant and bar outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Read daily events to acknowledge VIP arrivals and know all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods, and relay this politely and concisely to guests
• Present children's menus when appropriate and describe specials and alternative cuisine
• Serve and clear food and beverage items unobtrusively and professionally
• Use the POS system to ring up sales, print checks, close checks and complete cash-out procedures
• Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver
• Check guest satisfaction, handle problems and inform the manager of how they were resolved
• Follow cash and credit card procedures and maintain a clean, neat and orderly restaurant
• Polish silver, refill condiments, keep the workstation stocked and report guest comments to the manager
• Maintain equipment, follow safety, sanitation and hygiene policies and keep service and storage areas safe and clean
• Perform opening and closing duties, set tables to standard and help minimise waste and breakages
• Assist other food and beverage outlets during peak hours if needed

Required profile

• Prior experience in a similar luxury hotel or established restaurant environment
• Fun, energetic and passionate about hospitality
• Fluent English; Arabic and French are also preferred
