Basketball Academy Operations & Community Manager

About the role

A fast-growing, international-standard youth basketball academy in Dubai is looking for an Academy Operations & Community Manager. The role runs day-to-day operations so the coaches can focus on coaching, acts as the main point of contact for parents, schools and venue partners, and keeps schedules, invoicing, kit and communication running smoothly. The safety of every child in the academy's care comes first.

Key responsibilities

• Child safety and safeguarding: own sign-in/sign-out, authorised pick-ups, first aid readiness and incident handling at every session in line with UAE law
• Parents and community: manage WhatsApp groups and newsletters, run events and referral programmes, and act on termly feedback
• Scheduling and venues: build and own the master schedule, coordinate courts with venue partners and ensure no parent or coach is caught off guard by changes
• Coaches and daily operations: give coaches rosters and logistics in advance, organise cover and make sure every session starts on time
• Games, camps and trips: organise league fixtures, tournaments, holiday camps, clinics, international trips and overseas training camps
• Compliance: keep track of parent forms, insurance, permits, coach licences and background checks
• Finance and systems: oversee invoicing, reconcile with Finance, manage the operations budget and use AI tools to work smarter
• Kit and suppliers: run game and training kit orders, equipment stock and supplier relationships

Required profile

• 3-5 years in operations management at a sports academy, club, school or customer-facing business
• Excellent spoken and written English and strong communication with parents and coaches
• Highly organised, plans ahead and pays close attention to detail
• Experience managing a team member
• Experience organising group travel, camps or events, ideally for young people
• Available for evenings and weekends, and able to travel abroad with the team
• First aid and safeguarding training, or willingness to obtain it before starting
• Arabic is a plus; a passion for youth sport, ideally basketball
