Beauty Buyer

About the role

Al Tayer Insignia, a luxury retailer active across the GCC for over 40 years, is looking for a Beauty Buyer to plan, forecast and purchase a commercially strong, customer-focused assortment. The role works across a portfolio of prestige and luxury beauty brands, with online and offline channels, and collaborates closely with global brand partners and cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse market trends, consumer preferences, sell-through and seasonal demand to build a buying practice aligned with consumer and store needs
• Plan the range, type, quality and quantity of merchandise, set prices and sell-through targets with the Division Merchandise Manager, in line with budget
• Carry out purchasing in line with brand purchase plans and maintain profitable supplier relationships, monitoring contract terms
• Monitor store stock levels with the planning team and support promotions so the right products are available in time and in the right quantities
• Support PR and marketing by validating product selections for campaigns, and keep up with competitor activity
• Negotiate supplier-provided product training, manage brand training of staff and deliver regular trends training
• Review buying feedback and sales performance weekly, and prepare reports on turnover and trends to propose maintaining, liquidating or discontinuing products and lines
• Conduct regular store visits across markets to review brand performance and competitors
• Lead subordinates and give them direction toward the achievement of goals and objectives

Required profile

• Proven track record in buying and retailing in the beauty industry, preferably multi-brand
• 5+ years of experience in buying with a clear focus on beauty
• Experience in the luxury beauty segment
