Biostatistician & Data Science Specialist

About the role

Reneco Wildlife Consultancy is seeking a dedicated Biostatistician and Data Science Specialist to support its global conservation programmes. Based in Abu Dhabi, you will combine advanced analytics, machine learning and AI to turn large ecological datasets into actionable insights for wildlife conservation and environmental monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Perform statistical analyses, interpret data and produce reports that guide evidence‑based decisions across research and conservation projects.
• Clean, structure, integrate and manage large, complex datasets while building reliable data pipelines.
• Design, develop and implement AI and Machine Learning models to solve operational and scientific challenges.
• Deploy AI‑driven applications such as automated monitoring systems, sensor integrations, dashboards, APIs and intelligent decision‑support tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, international partners and academic institutions to translate scientific research into practical solutions.
• Identify patterns, trends and anomalies in environmental, biological and operational data to generate actionable insights.
• Support capacity building, knowledge transfer and supervision of students, and communicate findings through publications and conferences.

Required profile

• PhD in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence, either in academia or industry.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing AI/ML models on real‑world datasets.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
