Bus Driver for School Transport

About the role

The school is looking for a dedicated Bus Driver to transport children safely to and from school each day. You will play a key part in ensuring a secure, supportive environment for pupils while upholding the school’s safeguarding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons.
• Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends.
• Maintain a clean and mechanically‑sound bus at all times.
• Obey all traffic laws and perform pre‑ and post‑route inspections.
• Ensure the safety of all students on board.
• Discipline children when required to maintain a safe environment.
• Assist students with boarding and alighting as needed.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and keep RTA approvals up to date.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the school or regional office.

Required profile

• Must pass criminal background checks covering the previous 10 years.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Hold a valid driving licence and current RTA approvals.
• Will be line‑managed by the Facility Manager and Transport & Housekeeping Supervisor.
