Business and Economics Teacher - Secondary School

About the role

The Arbor School in Dubai is seeking an experienced Business and Economics teacher for its Secondary School. The successful candidate will teach the British curriculum, particularly at GCSE/iGCSE and A Level, and will help students understand the economic, commercial and social challenges of our world. The school's ethos is rooted in ecology, sustainability and social responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging lessons in line with the British curriculum and examination specifications
• Develop students' analytical, evaluative, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Use assessment strategies and progress data to inform teaching and support strong outcomes
• Support curriculum development and schemes of work with the Head of Department and colleagues
• Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Work with pastoral and inclusion teams to support every student's academic and personal development
• Develop enrichment opportunities in enterprise, financial literacy and economic developments
• Incorporate real-world applications, sustainability and ethical business practices
• Take part in professional development and uphold safeguarding standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Economics or a related subject, with a PGCE and QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• At least two years' relevant teaching experience, ideally in a British curriculum school
• Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching Business and Economics at secondary level, ideally GCSE/iGCSE and A Level
• Fluent or native-level English
