Business Continuity Specialist

About the role

The Business Continuity Specialist will support the Department in maintaining service delivery during emergencies and disruptive incidents. You will work closely with various units to develop, implement and update continuity plans and related procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and maintain a register of critical services, update risk profiles and ensure controls are in place.
• Collect information and assist in creating Business Continuity Strategies, Incident Response Plan, Business Continuity Plan and Media Response Plan.
• Coordinate resources (personnel, tools, software, finances) required for continuity plan execution.
• Train departmental coordinators and management on response scenarios and continuity procedures.
• Develop and update notification, escalation, event management and supply‑chain procedures for emergencies.
• Participate in internal audits, post‑incident assessments and KPI reporting for business continuity standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; IT degree preferred.
• Professional certification in ISO 22301 or NCEMA 7000 standards is a plus.
• 0–2 years of practical experience in business risk analysis or business continuity management.
