Business Development Lead – Downstream Business (UAE)

About the role

The Business Development Lead will drive profitable growth and expand Bureau Veritas' market presence across the UAE downstream value chain. The role focuses on strategic account development in refining, petrochemicals, gas processing, terminals, storage, pipelines and related industrial facilities, positioning the company as a trusted partner for testing, inspection, certification, asset integrity, sustainability and digital solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a UAE downstream market map covering priority accounts, assets and tender pipelines.
• Develop and execute account penetration strategies and annual growth plans aligned with Bureau Veritas priorities.
• Lead client relationship management with senior executives, procurement teams, EPC contractors and consultants.
• Qualify leads, coordinate technical and commercial inputs, and lead bid strategy, pricing and negotiation for tenders and contracts.
• Deliver order intake, revenue and margin targets while providing accurate pipeline and forecast updates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, energy management or related field; postgraduate commercial qualification is a plus.
• 7‑10 years of experience in downstream oil & gas, petrochemicals or industrial services with a proven record of complex B2B sales in the UAE.
• Relevant training in TIC services, consultative selling, key‑account management, tendering and contract negotiation.

Required skills

• Good understanding of downstream assets, operating models and project lifecycles.
• Working knowledge of inspection, testing, certification, asset integrity, QA/QC, HSE, sustainability and digital assurance services.
• Ability to translate client requirements into compliant technical‑commercial solutions.
• Awareness of UAE regulatory requirements and international codes and standards.
