Butchery Commis (Level 3)

About the role

The Butchery Commis (Level 3) supports the culinary team at Westin Hotels & Resorts in Dubai Marina by preparing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, and ensuring food quality and safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, peel, and store fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat products.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality checklists.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Prepare cold dishes and assemble plated meals following presentation standards.
• Monitor cooking progress, test doneness, and adjust as needed.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, tools, and kitchen area.
• Check appliance and food temperatures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Support set‑up and break‑down of work stations and assist teammates to achieve service goals.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a kitchen or butchery environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lb for an entire shift.
• Willingness to follow company policies, safety procedures, and confidentiality requirements.

Required skills

• Food preparation and basic butchery techniques.
• Operation of standard kitchen equipment (ovens, grills, fryers, etc.).
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
