CAD Designer – Road & Traffic Engineering

About the role

The CAD Designer will create accurate 2D drawings for road, traffic and related infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. Working closely with civil, road and traffic engineers, you will translate design concepts, survey data and specifications into detailed CAD deliverables that meet local authority standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed road and traffic engineering drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• Develop and update road layouts, alignment drawings, longitudinal profiles, cross‑sections, junction and intersection details.
• Produce kerb, footpath, median, road‑marking, signage and road‑furniture layouts.
• Create traffic management, temporary traffic arrangement and drainage drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project standards, authority requirements and CAD standards.
• Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to incorporate design changes and resolve drawing interfaces.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, dimensions and consistency.
• Maintain proper revision control, file organization and document management.
• Assist in preparing design submission, approval and construction drawings, including as‑built documentation when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in road and traffic engineering CAD drafting/design.
• Strong understanding of road geometry, profiles, sections and junction layouts.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, design information and technical specifications.
• Good knowledge of CAD standards, drawing preparation and revision procedures.
• Independent work style with the ability to meet project deadlines.
• Effective coordination and communication skills.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
