About the role

Etihad Airways is launching its UAE National Cadet Pilot Programme, a two‑year structured training pathway designed to develop the next generation of airline pilots. Candidates will undergo ground school, flight simulations and practical flying while being mentored by experienced instructor pilots.

Key responsibilities

• Complete a two‑year training curriculum covering ground school in the UAE and abroad.
• Participate in flight simulation sessions and hands‑on flying exercises.
• Adhere to Etihad’s “Safety First, Always” philosophy, following SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Engage with mentors and senior pilots throughout the training journey.

Required profile

• UAE national, aged 18‑29, minimum height 160 cm.
• High school diploma with at least 80% overall and passing grades in Mathematics and Physics, or a bachelor’s/master’s degree.
• Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or EmSAT English score of 1250.
• Completed or exempted from UAE National Service (males only).
• Strong passion for aviation, commitment to continuous learning, and excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Flight simulation proficiency.
• Understanding of safety procedures, SOP compliance and aviation regulations.

What we offer

• Monthly salary of AED 5,000 during the initial training period.
• Salary increase to AED 16,667 after License Skill Test, then AED 24,000 after line training, with step increments up to AED 34,000.
• Senior First Officer salary of AED 39,853 upon obtaining an ATPL.
• Mentoring from experienced pilots and exposure to Etihad’s expanding fleet.
