Careers Consultant - Dubai Campus

About the role

The Careers Service at Heriot-Watt University's Dubai campus helps students and graduates make informed career choices through professional career guidance and information. The role contributes to the University's strategic aims by delivering career education and guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students and graduates, working alongside other Careers Consultants and in close collaboration with senior school staff, academic colleagues, the Employer Liaison Coordinator, alumni team and employers. It reports to the Careers and Industry Engagement Manager (Dubai Campus).

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality careers information, advice, guidance and coaching to students and graduates, using one-to-one sessions, e-guidance, group seminars, coaching and mentoring.
• Deliver centralised and school-based careers education sessions to a wide range of students and graduates.
• Develop and implement a plan to support graduates seeking employment after graduation and improve Graduate Destination Survey outcomes.
• Contribute to the Employer Engagement Strategy and represent the University at careers fairs and employer events, gathering and analysing UAE labour market intelligence.
• Work with academic staff to tailor guidance to specific disciplines and with the Student Engagement team to improve service uptake.
• Plan annual activities, produce and update careers materials, and use customer feedback to improve the service.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of career routes, labour market trends and employers through continuous professional development.
