Cargo Planning & Scheduling Controller (Emiratisation)

About the role

The Cargo Planning and Scheduling Controller will own and maintain the short‑ and medium‑term freighter operating schedule for a global air cargo leader. The role ensures alignment with commercial requirements, operational feasibility and network priorities while driving schedule reliability and aircraft utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise the freighter operating schedule, balancing maintenance, slots, permits and commercial priorities.
• Conduct 24/48/72‑hour forward planning to identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Develop recovery options for AOG, maintenance overruns, crew constraints, airport disruptions, weather and regulatory issues.
• Validate significant schedule changes and implement them in AirVision/ENCOM, CORE and related systems.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Network Control Centre, Engineering, Crew, Flight Operations, Regulatory and Stations to resolve operational issues.
• Monitor aircraft utilisation, block hours and schedule productivity, recommending efficiency improvements.
• Lead, coach and develop reporting staff, building their scheduling capability and decision‑making skills.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cargo planning, scheduling or similar operational roles.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate and mitigate operational risks.
• Leadership experience, capable of coaching and developing junior staff.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple internal functions.
