Carpenter – Guest Repair & Maintenance

About the role

The Carpenter will join the engineering & facilities team at W Residences, providing prompt repair and maintenance services for guest rooms and public areas. This full‑time position focuses on hands‑on carpentry, minor building works, and preventative upkeep to ensure a high‑quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests across the property.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines; carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to subsequent shifts using approved procedures.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall, wood‑trim repair, light‑bulb and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical components, TV programming, and other guestroom items.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler maintenance.
• Enter air‑handler schedules and adjust temperature settings via basic computer interfaces.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, and carpentry.
• Ability to acquire additional technical knowledge on the job.
• Strong attention to safety, security, and company policies.
• Professional appearance and ability to interact courteously with guests.
