Carpenter – Luxury Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Carpenter will maintain and restore wooden elements throughout Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, a five‑star hotel in Abu Dhabi. Working within the Engineering team, you will ensure guest rooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities meet the hotel’s luxury standards while minimizing disruption to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all carpentry‑related items across the property.
• Repair, install and maintain wooden doors, frames, windows, cabinets, wardrobes, shelving and furniture.
• Carry out furniture restoration, minor upholstery work and decorative finish repairs.
• Install, repair and replace locks, hinges, door closers, handles and other hardware.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop cleanliness and safety.
• Monitor material usage, report stock needs and coordinate with the Engineering team during renovations.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a carpenter, preferably in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment.
• Good knowledge of woodworking techniques, building maintenance and carpentry tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings and operate power and hand tools safely.
• Basic understanding of painting, polishing and finishing techniques.
• Good communication skills in English.
