Category Manager

About the role

Apparel LLC is seeking a Category Manager to develop and implement category strategies, manage buying and vendor relationships, and lead merchandising teams to drive growth and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives, analyzing market trends, customer behavior, and competitive insights.
• Participate in vendor negotiations and factory interactions, optimizing costs, terms, and product availability while ensuring quality and ethical sourcing.
• Oversee merchandising, visual placement, stock rotation, and inventory management, coordinating demand planning and replenishment to minimize stock-outs and overstock.
• Track category performance using metrics such as sales, margins, stock turns, and profitability, adjusting pricing, promotions, and assortment based on insights.
• Lead a team of merchandisers, providing training and fostering cross‑functional collaboration with marketing, operations, and finance.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in category management, buying, or merchandising within the retail industry.
• Strong skills in assortment planning, vendor management, and inventory control.
• Proven ability to analyze data and drive category performance.
• Experience leading cross‑functional collaboration across supply chain, marketing, and operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail, or a related field.
