Category Manager

About the role

The Category Manager will drive the overall performance of a product category for Apparel Group, shaping strategy, assortment and pricing to meet business goals. This role requires strong analytical insight, vendor partnership skills and the ability to lead cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business objectives, using market trends and customer insights.
• Lead buying and vendor negotiations, optimizing costs, terms and product availability while ensuring compliance and ethical sourcing.
• Oversee merchandising and inventory management, directing product placement, visual merchandising and stock rotation, and managing demand planning and replenishment.
• Analyse sales performance, margins and profitability, producing reports to adjust pricing, promotions and assortment.
• Lead and develop a team of merchandisers, coordinating cross‑functional efforts with marketing, operations and finance.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in category management, buying or merchandising within the retail industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail or a related field.
