Central Controller – UAE National (Finance)

About the role

Assist the CFO in overseeing financial management and controlling functions for Thales in the UAE, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance across the country.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor shared‑services KPIs with a focus on “Paid on Time”.
• Manage project cash‑in and cash‑out, forecast cash flow and optimise operating cash flow with Operations.
• Review working‑capital requirements and lead intercompany‑vehicle (ICV) requirements, including occasional travel to Abu Dhabi.
• Reduce days‑sales‑outstanding (DSO) on intercompany accounts receivable.
• Oversee financial activities of UAE entities, ensure accuracy and compliance, and conduct monthly balance‑sheet reviews.
• Lead audits and prepare financial statements for all UAE entities.
• Implement and maintain internal controls (ICMA, ICQ) in line with regulatory and corporate standards.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes and, as the business grows, take over project controlling for new projects.
• Participate in finance transformation initiatives, including SAP improvements and agile tools.

Required profile

• Audit background is mandatory.
• Chartered Accountant or CPA with at least five years of experience (strongly preferred).
• Fluent in English.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and uphold high standards of conduct.
• Strong organisational and synthesis capabilities.

• Proficiency with SAP.
• In‑depth knowledge of IFRS.
