Certifying Engineer - Line Maintenance (Air Arabia)

About the role

Air Arabia is looking for a Certifying Engineer for line maintenance, based in Sharjah. The successful candidate carries out and supervises line maintenance on Air Arabia and third-party aircraft under CAR 66 B2 licence authorisation, with a focus on avionics and electrical systems. The role covers inspections, troubleshooting, defect rectification and component replacement, ensuring work is certified and recorded in a timely manner in line with company procedures and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review task cards with the Maintenance Manager before starting work, then prepare and perform scheduled maintenance using the correct documentation, parts, tools and GSE.
• Carry out test and inspection tasks to identify and record defects, and troubleshoot and rectify them according to aircraft maintenance manuals.
• Sign off maintenance tasks performed or supervised, confirming that task cards and documents meet the required standard.
• Coordinate with other engineers and technicians, and supervise technicians so they are properly briefed on their non-certifying tasks.
• Manage safety, taking mandatory precautions and protecting colleagues, and manage human factors such as task continuity and handovers.
• Support other operational teams with professional advice and present a competent image to flight crews and customers.
• Be aware of maintenance costs and minimise waste of consumables and parts.

Required profile

• Holds or has held an EASA Part 66 or GCAA CAR 66 B2 licence with company maintenance approvals on the Airbus A320; external applicants need at least 2 years certifying maintenance on the A320 family and 5 years in line maintenance.
• Ability to obtain an unrestricted CAR 66 B2 category licence.
• Good English for technical communication and good computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to obtain a UAE driving licence.
