CFD Engineer Fire & Life Safety

About the role

We are looking for a CFD Engineer specialized in fire and life safety to design and analyse smoke control systems for complex building projects in the UAE. The role involves performing advanced CFD simulations, preparing technical documentation and supporting design approvals in line with international and local fire safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design smoke control and ventilation systems complying with NFPA 92, IBC and the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code.
• Run CFD simulations using FDS and PyroSim to assess smoke movement, tenability and safe egress.
• Conduct evacuation calculations and develop models to evaluate occupant safety.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, system calculations and documentation for authority submissions.
• Estimate project costs for ducts, control systems and related accessories.
• Review architectural and fire‑protection drawings to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate smoke‑management strategies.
• Support client meetings, presentations and authority approvals using CFD analysis results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in CFD analysis and fire safety engineering.
• Strong understanding of NFPA standards, IBC and the UAE Fire Code.
• Proven ability to produce technical reports and communicate findings.
