About the role

GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking passionate Chemistry teachers to join its team from August 2026. The school follows an American curriculum with an IB pathway, emphasizing inquiry‑based learning and global citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Chemistry lessons aligned with American and IB curriculum standards.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including English language learners and gifted students.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages collaboration, curiosity and student well‑being.
• Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance learning experiences.
• Assess student progress using authentic methods and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning and curriculum development.
• Participate in co‑curricular and community programmes to support holistic learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a subject‑related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PGDE, state licence) in Chemistry.
• Proven experience teaching high‑school Chemistry, preferably within an American or IB curriculum context.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, reflective approach.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
