Chief Engineer (Hotel)

About the role

Join a leading hotel brand and brighten guests' days by overseeing all building and systems maintenance. As the Chief Engineer you will ensure the property runs smoothly, safely and efficiently while delivering memorable hospitality experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing engineering team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations and mentorship.
• Oversee the maintenance of the building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC and life‑safety systems, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations.
• Manage daily maintenance operations, prioritize work orders, and ensure timely resolution of guest requests and emergencies through the property maintenance management system.
• Support capital and property improvement projects by coordinating scheduling, budgeting, contractor bidding, licensing and permitting.
• Develop and implement energy‑conservation programmes to reduce utility costs across the property.
• Monitor engineering performance using KPIs such as equipment uptime, audit results and team productivity, and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with hotel leadership on safety protocols, evacuation procedures and duty‑manager coverage.
